What DownsizeRoute collects, why it is collected, how long it is kept and how you get it removed. Last updated September 4, 2026.
Who is responsible for your data
DownsizeRoute is published by MLJ, SASU, a French simplified joint stock company registered at 934 769 837 R.C.S. Paris. The publication director, Jimenez Julien, is the person accountable for the handling of personal data described here. You can reach him at jimenezjulien42@gmail.com on any question in this policy, and he answers personally.
What the contact form collects
The request form on the home page is the only place this site collects personal information. It collects exactly these fields: name (your full name), email (your work email address), company (your practice name), role (your job title, chosen from a list), request (whether you want a demo, early access or a quote), size (how many households you move in a typical month), message (the free text you write about the move giving you trouble) and consent (your confirmation that we may store and answer the message).
Two hidden fields travel with the submission for routing purposes: a subject line identifying the site, and the recipient address of the publication director. A honeypot field named bot-field is included to catch automated spam and is expected to remain empty. No other information is gathered. This site does not run advertising trackers, third party analytics cookies, session recording, heat mapping or fingerprinting scripts, and it sets no cookie of its own.
Why we process it, and on what legal basis
Your submission is used for one purpose: to answer your request and, if you ask for one, to arrange a demonstration of the software. Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation the legal basis is your consent, given through the required checkbox, together with our legitimate interest in responding to a business enquiry addressed to us. We do not use the form data to build marketing profiles, we do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not sell, rent or trade contact details to anyone, including moving companies, estate buyers, senior living operators and data brokers.
Who processes and stores submissions
Form submissions are processed and stored by Netlify, Inc., 512 2nd Street, Suite 200, San Francisco, CA 94107, United States, which hosts this site and operates Netlify Forms. A copy of each submission is delivered by email to the publication director. Netlify acts as our processor and holds submissions under its own security controls. No other third party receives your submission.
How long submissions are kept
A submission is kept for twenty four months from the date we receive it, so that a conversation started in one busy season can be picked up in the next one. After that period the record is deleted from the Netlify Forms store and from the email archive. If you ask for deletion earlier, we remove the record within thirty days and confirm in writing. Records connected to an active subscription are governed by the retention terms in the terms of service instead.
Client records inside the product
Households, inventories, photographs and floor plans that a subscriber creates inside DownsizeRoute belong to that subscriber. MLJ, SASU processes them only to operate the service. Those records are stored on encrypted servers located in the United States, are accessible only to the seats on the account and to the family members a manager invites to a specific move, and are never used for marketing or shared with third parties. A subscriber can export or permanently delete any household record at any time.
Your rights under US state privacy laws
If you live in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah or Virginia, you have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to receive a copy of it, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of any sale or sharing of it for targeted advertising. We do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of, but the right stands and we will confirm that in writing on request. California residents may also designate an authorized agent to make a request on their behalf. We do not discriminate against anyone who exercises these rights: refusing a demonstration or asking for deletion changes nothing about the price or service you are offered.
Your rights under the GDPR
If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another jurisdiction applying the GDPR, you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and the right to withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing already carried out. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, which in France is the Commission nationale de l'informatique et des libertes.
How to exercise your rights
Send a request to jimenezjulien42@gmail.com with enough detail to identify your record, such as the email address you used on the form. We answer within thirty days, and we do not ask you to create an account or use a portal in order to make a request. If we need to verify your identity we ask for the minimum necessary and we do not keep the verification material afterward.
Children's privacy
DownsizeRoute is a business tool for professional senior move managers and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under sixteen years of age. If you believe a child has submitted information through this site, write to us and we will delete the record promptly. Household inventories occasionally reference family members of any age, and those entries are treated as ordinary client records under the retention rules above.
International transfers
MLJ, SASU is established in France and the site is hosted in the United States. Submitting the form therefore transfers your information to the United States. Transfers rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses as incorporated in our agreement with Netlify, Inc., together with the technical measures applied by that provider, including encryption in transit and at rest.
Security and changes to this policy
Traffic to this site is served over HTTPS, submissions are encrypted in transit, and access to the form archive is limited to the publication director. If this policy changes we update the date at the top of this page and describe the change in plain language. Material changes affecting existing enquiries are also announced by email to the address on file.
